1. руб.= $ USD$ 0.23

SPb, 1840: (S$1) 23.7565 Grams Fine Ag = 1.33 руб. Ag = 4.788 руб. Acc.

Where a Carlos III Mexican American Dollar in Mint-State weighed nearly 420 English Grains Troy (27.2155 g) .905 Fine Ag, a 1764 Dollar 75 years circulated (Better Wear-Rate: 0.081395349 Grain, per year) probably weighed on average 413.895 Grains, 374.64 Grains Fine Silver.

The US Mint estimated Spanish Silver Dollars of of this period somewhat lighter, at 411 Grains.

Old Spanish Dollars (originally 414.15 Grains Troy) assumed to have lost 1.58% of weight in circulation (as Alexander Hamilton had estimated the 1772 Spanish Dollar in 1792) might  be estimated to weigh, in Southern Russia 1840, ~408 Grains Troy (0.85 Ozt) with 0.765 Ozt Fine Ag.  (The 1840 St. Petersburg Mint assay was abit worse, apparently.)

Southern Russia: (S$1) 23.794 Grams Fine Ag = 6. руб. Acc. (~£ 0.2625)
∴ 1 Ozt Fine Ag = 7.84 руб. Acc.(~£ 0.3431)
